When you hear or read the word nourishment what comes to mind? Gardeners think of enriching the soil so that plants will grow faster and be healthier.  Dieters consider foods that will help reduce weight, enhance immunity from sickness or strengthen muscle mass.

I encourage you to consider how you will evoke self-nourishment in the days that lie ahead for you in 2018.

The start of a new year brings with it 365 days full of new possibilities, dreams, hopes and optimism. January also brings expectations, demands and a return to a strong dose of reality as we look at the challenges that await us.

Humans are a critical lot. We recognize the need for elements such as stress and yet we so easily succumb to the negative tension that takes us close to, if not over, our “red line” of being stressed-out.

The start of 2018 presents us with the opportunity to recalibrate how we see ourselves. Today, this month, this year, is a tremendous opportunity to be all that we can be without constantly allowing our imperfections to ride over our accomplishments and appreciate the many things we have overcome in our lives.

The enclosed brief article is a reminder to self nourish before frequently falling prey to the trap of being over-stressed. Be kind to yourself instead of permitting your Gremlin to be overly critical or feeling guilty about saying “No” to every expectation you and others put on you.
