A reader offers these suggested books to us navigate through the pandemic and take us into springtime.
It’s beginning to look a lot like spring!
If you are like me you are counting down the days until the sun sets later than 5pm and you don’t have to wear 10 layers to stay warm. So, of course, I will find any reason to get outside and enjoy the sun. Being in lockdown has really pushed me and everyone else to get creative on how to stay active, connect with friends and family but also things to keep your brain stimulated. I think that has been the hardest part for me. Most days, my brain just feels like mush.
I have decided to put a list together of books I have recently devoured that will transport you around the world; make you laugh or cry; wake you up in the middle of the night to read the next chapter; or even scare you.
- The Women in the Window by A.J. Finn
- The Night Portrait by Laura Morelli
- The Winemaker’s Wife by Kristin Harmel
- When No One is Watching by Alyssa Cole
- Beach Read by Emily Henry
- The Guest List by Lucy Foley
- The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett
- Sparks Like Stars by Nadia Hashim
- Think Again by Adam Grant
- Becoming by Michelle Obama
Now find a park bench or bring a picnic blanket and some hot coffee or sit back and let your mind wander to a place that doesn’t have restrictions, lockdowns and the word pandemic in it. We’ve made it through the toughest year most of us have ever experienced. It’s your turn to be kind to yourself and just let your brain escape into these wonderful books.
ENJOY!
