If your family is like mine, fall is a crazy time for birthdays. And we love to celebrate! Whether it’s putting on a surprise, making a video from all of your family and friends across the country or finding an excuse to sit in someone’s backyard or firing-up the barbeque.
Of course, inviting a limited number of people over or going to a socially distanced backyard party with COVID, I have personally found it very overwhelming. You aren’t sure who you can invite or who’s going to be upset with you if you don’t invite them. I know my brain plays out every possible scenario out there and what is the best way to make someone feel loved and special on their day.
Pinterest has over the summer, offered some amazing ideas on how to social distance yourself, and stay safe as well as how to enjoy yummy snacks without everyone having to touch all the food.
The idea is to make individual snacks that are delicious, look appetizing and everyone can feel comfortable grabbing. For example:
- Prosciutto wrapped melon
- Individual veggie cups
- Bocconcini, tomato & basil bites
- Individual taco salad cups, and
- Mini BLT sandwiches
I know we are all over-thinking every step we take these days and what is the safest ways to go about things. So get creative and let loose. No matter what you decide to do or what you feel like making, loved ones will appreciate a COVID party thrown for them. Creating yummy snacks that cater to a “one-touch” placement on a guest plate or napkin will only add to the fun and thoughtful protection of their individual health and safety.
Be kind to yourself and others. Put on some music and get cooking. ENJOY!
