Have you ever had a brilliant idea while taking a shower, staring at the passing landscape or just sitting still to savour a special moment of solitude? Of course you have and yet, how much time do you set aside to foster an openness to create a channel for your own movie to play in your mind?

I especially like how this month’s feature article leans into the essence of creating the space and the place to receive helpful and even random thoughts.

“The CEO related how much of his ability to navigate very demanding days was to set aside five minutes, three times a day …”

One of my favourite stories about being grounded with silence comes from having the privilege of coaching the CEO of a well known Canadian auto repair franchise. After I started to work with this individual he related how much of his ability to navigate very demanding days was learning to set aside five minutes, three times a day to check-in on how he was feeling and what he was moving ahead through his leadership. In this instance, he found success by setting aside structured time in his calendar first thing in the morning, mid and end of day.

This scenario works for people who enjoy and need a disciplined structure. Imagine how much more is possible if each of us develops the habit of setting aside the time for dreaming? Imagine how more is possible if you are responsive to these thoughts in unstructured moments?

I invite you to read this article and make April the starting point for carving out your time to stay in touch with your dreams. Listening to your wise mind by not forcing the answer to every problem you find have right away. Inviting Aha moments will present you with a wide selection of options and a panorama of new possibilities.

Enjoy your Aha’s!
